I downloaded what I thought was going to be Proxmox 5.3-1, and after installation I got 5.3-5. I'm not used to this number incrementing until I've run through the update process. I just wondered if the Proxmox folks could verify the ISO on the website?

This is the sha256sum of the proxmox-ve_5.3-1.iso file that I downloaded

Sorry if this is a nit picky request. But ever since the issue with Linux Mint, I've been kind of on edge with verifying I'm getting a valid ISO. In this case, the website, and file name of the ISO claim I should be getting 5.3-1, the installer says it's 5.3 update 1. The very first thing post installation, I hit up the web interface, and it's 5.3-5.

Yours?

Size, SHA256, and CRC32 are the same as yours. When did you download your ISO, and does it install 5.3-1?

Okay, that explains most of what's going on. pve-manager and proxmox-ve have two different version numbers. pve-manager's version number is what is displayed in the web interface. Though I do get a different version of pve-manager than you do, but that could just be an update going through or something.

proxmox-ve: 5.3-1 (running kernel: 4.15.18-9-pve)
pve-manager: 5.3-5 (running version: 5.3-5/97ae681d)

It would be nice if

It would be nice if signature info was readily available. AFAIK it is not.
FYI One of the issues Mint had was their info was not served over HTTPS at the time.
Ubuntu said they thought Mint was extremely insecure. Mint has improved but good luck on regaining our trust.

You mix the ISO release number and the pve-manager version.
