DVB adapter / USB passthrough

Hello proxmox community,

I am having trouble to get my DVB-C USB Adapter (Hauppauge WinTV-DualHD, model 204109) running in a ubuntu 18.04 LXC container.
I've installed driver & firmware (acc. to http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/support/support_linux.html) within the container (not pve..), but my adapter is not available for the TVheadend configuration.

I hope you can support me in the analysis, therefore two simple questions:
1. In the container shell I can see with

lsusb

that my device is actually existing. Output:

Bus 001 Device 002: ID 2040:0265 Hauppauge

-> Is my assumption right that I am not facing a passthrough issue?

2. is it correct that I only need to do the driver installation in the container, not in the host pve ?

Hello all,
to whom it may concern - finally I found the issue :
had to add these two lines to /etc/pve/lxc/101.conf in the pve in order to make the DVB stick available for the container

lxc.cgroup.devices.allow: c 212:* rwm
lxc.mount.entry: /dev/dvb dev/dvb none bind,optional,create=dir

I see this issue wasnt a problem for any other fellow LXC user. It is for me so thank you for this post. When I first read it I assumed that finally I found the solution to my problem but unfortunately it isnt. Read the German post too and for some reason this does not seem to work with me. My setup is as follows:


Proxmox: 7.4-3
LXC: Ubuntu 23.4
TVHeadEnd: 4.3.0
Tunner WinTV-dualHD - model 1592
HAUPPAUGE drivers installed in LXC
LSUSB finds the device in Node and LXC

I am attaching some screenshots of the CONF file and LXC setup.

Maybe I could ask you to have a look at it and tell me where my mistake it.
