Hey guys,

i'm currently evaluating pve 4.x for a new Server.
Got a lot of openvz Containers which should be transfered to that new machine. I'm struggeling with my lvm/partition Layout because i wanna do snapshot backups.
This is my original setup:
https://www.evernote.com/shard/s221...377777cb17ad/11c7736b1eefd5c0617193da9b0494cb

I wanna make this working:
http://www.evernote.com/shard/s221/...273e08cf9b8d/56700bcefd087355f993e0629a5b8fa0

I already tried to add a new vg, lv on md8 and started the backup - but the manager says:
INFO: mode failure - some volumes do not support snapshots
INFO: trying 'suspend' mode instead

What is the right layout for my Issue?

Gratz chris

You need FS support for snapshots...either lvm thin pool or zfs. Did not try zfs only lvm thin pools.

Never tried zfs myself. Please report back. You can always use lvm thin volumes with ext4 and have snapshots. So you have 2 disk what kind of raid?
