Hi to everyone (and sorry for my English).
I m using proxmox 3.0 since 2 years and i never had a problem before.
Recently my organization bought "solidwork epm" that requires the istallation of snl (solidworks network licensing).
Installing that software on a virtulal "windows server 2008 r2 std" gives me the message (traslating from italian) "the license activation is not supported in this virtual environment . you can continue with the installation , but the activation fails" .
The questions are:
How can it know in which evironment is running?
How can I set my virtual environment to be like a certificated one, like VmWare and Hyper-V are?
I have a plan B: install snl on a physical machine but i consider it a failure...

Thanks in advance.

I do not know this software and how they do their check, but maybe it helps if you set a defined virtual CPU for your VM (choose the same model as you have physically).

Thank for your help Tom,
I already tried almost all combination of cpu, graphic card, network card, but with no results. (also tried cpu hosted...)

What is with "SMBIOS settings (type1)" Here you can enter UUID, Manufaturer.... maybe this should help, comined with the CPU.

Thanks fireon e macday,
I have the same problem a and I tried your solution without success:

SNL uses FlexNet. It recognizes the virtualizer ...It reads here in the "Virtualization Support" sectionhttp://www.flexerasoftware.com/producer/products/software-monetization/flexnet-licensing/tab/features
