Thanks there commented out because i was tracking down what was going wrong.
if i use it as it is the connections get refused if i comment out "auto vmbr1" and everything below i can connect to the server again.
something very strange is happening somewhere.
ok sound simple should be simple but somethings going wrong simply want to forward set ports to the vms. heres what i got so far
if i do
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
iface eno1 inet manual
auto vmbr0
iface vmbr0 inet static
address Public_ip
netmask 24
gateway...

Proxmox 4 can easily be configured to put all or some of your VM/Containers in a NATed...
it so annoying finding guides for this sort of stuff, everything either outdated or dosnt work with OVH servers, and from what iv read the new 'firewall' wont do it, not sure why it has options if it cant do something.
trying to forward a port from main server ip to the guest (sounds simple)
/etc I'd in the main disk directory not root directory. So from terminal go cd /
If you using a GUI interface click on your main disk and etc will be there
OK so just had a weird problem trying to get Proxmox or the rather limited options on Hetzner
It kept setting eth0 as the default with all the settings so I couldn't setup a vmbr
In the end I ended up opening proxmox GUI and copying all the settings from eth0 and then deleting the settings...
Thanks couldnt find an easy guide to update the kernel so here it is
please note this is for proxmox running 3.4 but on default kernel of 2.6 older proxmox versions are different. i did this via ssh/terminal
