Thanks, but it's an older (though it still feels brand new - time does fly) motherboard (asus p5bv-m) so not much to do there as far as I can see.
I've also tried w/o any other disks mounted - and also 3 different target-drives.
Hi...
Instead of upgrading I figured I would install from scratch, but the installation fails testing the cdrom.
I don't have any cdrom attached to this server, and have tried creating the usb in 3 different ways (imagewriter,dd,rufus).
I also tried several usb sticks...
Is there any way I can...
I hadn't thought about the firewall scenario in proxmox at those scales - again a limitation of not being in a production environment.
I manage just fine as is, but I always need to know why stuff is the way it is.
And you helped me with that today.
Thanks alot.
It propably does, but it's not as much a requirement as a thought.
Well, I use proxmox to learn - as it is a safe place to live by trial-by-error.
One of my servers is a fileserver with about 20 drives, where I train in both linux distributions and different development languages.
This is...
This is great news, but the 16 drives and 32 nics choice makes me curious.
I personally have 20 and 24 slot chassis, so I can easily see 32 drives and 16 nics as a reasonable solution.
At what scenario would 16/32 be needed/preferred?
Is it more complicated to implement larger number of...
I'm a little under the weather, so not sure if I'm on the same page, but here goes..:
I dont know if there's any gotcha's with freenas or ufs, but I run several debian guests with external ext3/4 storage disks the way I think you're asking for.
proxmox1 - server1 - disk1-disk2-disk3-disk4...
I had the same discovery.
If I'm not mistaken, you have to put the iso's in a subfolder, so in my case \\Nowiduo\iso\template\iso points to the iso's, and not \\Nowiduo\iso\ which I shared.
I didnt take any notes while doing it, and I might have done something silly, but now it is working at...
Small update.
Trying the new beta of Opera (Next) (Version 12.00 beta / Build 1431) and both console and start/stop works - even from right-click menu.
It seems they have introduced some new bugs though - update problems - suddenly don't show info-pane when clicking another vm etc.
Thanks alot for that information.
I am quite familiar with debian, and have been using it for some time.
But due to an incident in 2009 knowledge have a way of turning into I-should-know-this.
I have never heard of http://debian-handbook.info/ though, but after reading up on it I figure it's...
Ok. Thanks for the quick clarification.
Guess I can set up a couple of vms with 5 drives each instead until it's changed.
I can only end up learning more, so I cant go wrong.
Just out of curiousity; is there a technical reason for this limitation or simply a chosen design?
I read that sticky...
Hi, I recently upgraded from 1.8 to 2.1, and just noticed the limit on devices introduced.
As far as I understand from this thread there might be a problem with qemu-kvm which will crash the vm if exceeding x virtio devices.
One of the vm's is a file server, and have over 10 drives attached in...
I've used the guide Tom linked to, and installed it fine on two different servers several times with no problems.
I used imagewriter, and not unetbootin though.
Hello...
I get the same 2.1 error using Opera 11.64, build 1403 on Windows 7 64bit SP1.
Updated to latest java from java.com, so I guess that means I'm running sun-jdk.
(I've tried both 32 and 64-bit java)
java version "1.7.0_04"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_04-b22)
Java...
