Yeah - I'm shutting down and WOL right now .. hibernate would just be a major increase in performance. Oh and: try hibernate-ram - that's where I'm stuck.

Well, sure, a box for virtualization has to run most of the time, but there are scenarios where it might be able to hibernate. For instance on weekends or at night. I would set flags from the different guest machines, to make sure noone is in need for the host, then it would hibernate...
