    Question about LACP and stacked switches

    If SW1 and SW2 are stacked with port 23-24 should i even put hosts ports in separated channel-group like this: SW1 te 1/0/4 -> Host 1 enp5s0f0 in channel group 4 SW2 te 2/0/4-> host 1 enp6s0f0 in channel group 4 SW 1 te 1/0/5 -> host 2 enp5s0f0 in channel group 5 SW 2 te 2/0/5 -> host 2...

    Thank you very much Curtis, So i was not doing LACP correcly since the begining... My configuration should be : SW1 te 1/0/23-24 -> SW 2 te 2/0/23-24 = Stacking ports For inter-stack connexion : SW1 te 1/0/22 -> SW3 te 1/0/22 in channel-group 11 SW2 te 2/0/22 -> SW4 te 2/0/22 in...

    Question about LACP and stacked switches

    Thank you for your answer Curtis, I'm going to put LACP on my switches but should i put every ports connnected to my hosts (enp5s0f0 and enp6s0f0) in channel-group 1 ,in that case my channel group 1 would have Te 1/0/4-6 and Te 2/0/4-6 Or should i just put one port between the two switches in...

    vzdump backup speed and guest VM speed

    Hi! I wanted to know if vzdump backup speed for a VM is limited by its disks speed inside the guest OS? For example if just copy/paste inside the same VM speed is less than 100 MB/s could we expect to get vzdump speed being more than 100MB/s for that VM or could it be faster? The disks are...

    Guest Trafic speed issue

    Thanks for your answer Richard, I've tried all type of cache and writeback seems to be the best but from one VM to another speed is still about 1gbps.I tried ide and virtio with latest stable driver 0.1.141. So Speed from local VM disk to local VM disk is about 500Mo/s Speed VM inside the same...

    Need help for cluster design

    Thanks really for your advices Richard. My San will be probably a EMC and have 4 10 Gbe ports. Logically they could have different Ip address and I could do multipathing is this the good way? My backup sever could be a NFS server (is Freenas OK for this?or better another?) with 2 Intel...

    Need help for cluster design

    I bond them to get redundancy (in case of one interface or switch failure)as we would buy only 2 10Gbe switches So i could use: 2 1 Gbe bonded for VM traffic 2 1Gbe bonded for cluster 2 bonded interfaces on two different switches for ISCSI (should i use the 4 10Gbe port for ISCSI to get better...

    ProxMox Cluster with iSCSI Storage

    Hi, Not sure but i think you can't do live migration without being in the same cluster.The shared storage has to be added the same way so the same IP address so lvm locking can be managed by the cluster. I think you can name the storage the same way on both nodes and just copy the original vm...

    Proxmox cluster with SAN storage

    Yes we are in a GB network and our SAN only has 2 active GB port by controller for 5 nodes and some backups are running during production We are looking for upgrading to either 10GB or FC (8G or 16 G?).So as i understand you are FC pro.Your customers were in GB or 10 GB network?Do you think 10...

    Proxmox cluster with SAN storage

    Thank you for your answer LnxBil.I tried this on one linux VM and backup time was almost the same. Disk space is 120 GB,speed 31 MB/s and backup time is 4000 sec ,so it backup the full disk but size of backup is less important (60GB).Is it because my disk image is .raw format?
