[SOLVED] Configuring Thin Provision - DIR/QCOW2

Hello, I am interested in enabling thin-provisioning for a drive that is mounted using a directory-backend. I understand that snapshots/thin-provisioning are supported because of QCOW2, but do not see how to set the option for either the drive or while provisioning a drive to a VM. This is...

CPU power throttle back to save energy

Agreed, I didn’t notice much difference between powersave or ondemand throttling. Clearly a beneficial difference between either of those two and un-throttled though. Hardware: Purpose: NAS (OMV VM with disk-passthru) + HomeLab VM’s Ryzen5 3600X Asrock X570M PRO4 Micro ATX 2*32GB HyperX...

CPU power throttle back to save energy

I also have a Ryzen 5 3600X. Been running in my NAS at between 97-101 watts load (power data provided by TP-Link smart outlet) depending on usage. After setting my CPU cores to ondemand using sukerman’s suggestion, it instantly dropped to between 81-85 watts consumed at the outlet. I would say...

Changed Cable Modem (ONLY!) - Now apt-get fails for all hosts

Well, that was fun. Not sure why, but only 'localhost' was defined in /etc/resolv.conf ... after adding gw address, 10.0.0.1 , all is well. Any ideas on why this would disappear from two hosts and not appear at all in a fresh install on a third host (hours ago)? Is this a DHCP/router issue?

Update: I just did a full router reset; no improvement.

Changed Cable Modem (ONLY!) - Now apt-get fails for all hosts

Hello All, Losing it here... Sunday afternoon I replaced our cable modem due to lockups (it was a much older modem). New modem has been rock solid; but I've noticed an odd change in behavior for my ProxMox 5.1 hosts. The following day, and every day thereafter, both hosts (and a third I...

    CPU Load Not Accurate

Hey Guys, I recently installed VE v5.1 onto an Intel NUC.. a fresh install, single host (non-clustered); and I've noticed some odd behavior on the CPU usage reporting for VM's, which were freshly created on this host. The following screenshots are roughly the same time (within about two...
