Replying to myself: issue resolved!
I ended up with the following settings:
UNTIL REBOOT / LIVE:
echo 4669439573 >/sys/module/zfs/parameters/zfs_arc_max
echo 100 >/sys/module/zfs/parameters/zfs_arc_meta_limit_percent
echo 60 >/sys/module/zfs/parameters/zfs_arc_dnode_limit_percent
PERMANENT:

Did you find an answer? I also wonder. dnode_size keeps increasing, doesn't matter what is the zfs_arc_dnode_limit_percent I set.
I've been tracking dnod_size while doing a dump of a 120+ GB of size, and I can see it keeps increasing and end above the limit set.
Update: by tracking minute by...
Hi,
I've 16GB of RAM on my proxmox host and 1TB zfs root, with containers using approx. 70%/11GB of RAM:
total used free shared buff/cache available
Mem: 16366624 11155840 2862816 1282280 2347968 3578468
Swap: 0...
Would you be able to advise on what % of your total memory size you had to increase zfs_arc_max?
As per wiki https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/ZFS_on_Linux, it says "allocate at least 2 GiB Base + 1 GiB/TiB-Storage". Which is what I've 3GB for 1TB of storage, but I still face this issue, even after...
Alright, replying to myself: I found out the reason for the "freeze guest filesystem" getting stuck:
- the replication of the LXC container from host1 to host2 got stuck AFTER I mounted a folder with s3fs (!) within the LXC container (using the FUSE option on the LXC container config at proxmox...
Hi,
I've 2 fresh installations of Proxmox 6.4-13 with ZFS, working as a cluster, let's call them host1 & host2.
one of the LXC container is being replicated every 2 hrs from host2 to host1 without any issue
another LXC container is being replicated every 2 hrs from host1 to host2 with issues...
Hi,
I have a strange behaviour on Proxmox 5: all of a sudden, the pct command is not responding. Doesn't matter which parameter I use.
I've tried pct enter VMID, no response.
When instead using lxc-attach -n VMID works.
Does anyone know what shall I do to get pct command to respond again? Any...
Hi fireon,
Thanks for this - pretty useful and have just tried it - works pretty well.
Nevertheless, 2 issues I have so far:
---------------------------------
1) Apt-get
Whenever I want to run apt-get update, I keep getting "Could not resolve 'apt-cacher.osit.cc'". Even if the connection to...
Shouldn't this parameter be set @proxmox install when the root system is on ZFS -> meaning that the install wizard should ask the user for this parameter?
Just a thought as this can be ignored by many admin and lead to stability issue.
Just to mention that this works perfectly with failover IP @ online.net as well. THANKS
You just need to make sure that the same MAC address is being used for any failover IP that should be used by the container, and that the MAC address of eth0 on the container is also set to the same MAC address.
Found my issue for the firewall parameters: centos 7.4 update re-enabled firewalld which was creating additional rules within the container.
I disabled it and all good now with the firewall:
systemctl stop firewalld
systemctl disable firewalld
BUT, I still can't see resource usage within the...
