Web GUI not working after update

Greetings,

I recently updated to the latest enterprise build and rebooted and it changed the names of my NICs from:

eno1
eno2
eno3
eno4

to:

eno1np0
eno2np1
eno3np2
eno4np3

While I managed to manually update the "/etc/network/interfaces" file to get the network back up and working my question are this.....

Why did this change?
How often do changes like this happen after updates?

Just curious.

How often do changes like this happen after updates?

Interface names could always change after a kernel upgrade, BIOS upgrade or adding/removing any PCIe devices.
If you don't want to deal with this in the future have a look at this to define your own interfaces names based on the MAC of the NICs: https://wiki.debian.org/NetworkInterfaceNames#CUSTOM_SCHEMES_USING_.LINK_FILES
