I've been using the OCZ Z-Drive technology for a few years now, and am VERY happy with it. It basically outperforms everything out there AND is bootable.
one trick is that the entire drive is a pci-e controller card ( no cables, no drives, no bays ) etc... and can reach intense speeds.
Long story short,... the R2 models are now at end-of-life.
My question is this,... has ANYONE ( including ProxMox people ) used the R4 series z-drive successfully with either proxmox 1.9 or 2.0 ?
If so,... did you have to tinker with modifying the kernel or anything like that to get it to work ?
This is what we are using for our VM technology, and we're headed toward a brick wall if ProxMox won't detect the new R4 series Z-Drives.
( the older R2 models and slower Velo Drives are using LSI Sas software - which most versions of linux/unix detect just fine ).
But the new stuff has some custom, low level internal smart raid technology built in for some sort of load balancing and load distribution.
So I'm looking for advice from 'any' users who presently use the R4 Z-Drive from OCZ and ProxMox 1.9 or 2.0.
