Hello,

I have a problem with starting a VM after cloning it. The original VM does not start anymore and I get the following error message:

Code:
swtpm_setup: Not overwriting existing state file.
kvm: -drive file=/var/lib/vz/images/201/base-201-disk-0.qcow2,if=none,id=drive-scsi0,cache=writeback,format=qcow2,aio=io_uring,detect-zeroes=on: Could not open '/var/lib/vz/images/201/base-201-disk-0.qcow2': Operation not permitted
stopping swtpm instance (pid 5211) due to QEMU startup error
TASK ERROR: start failed: QEMU exited with code 1

Maybe someone has an idea what the error could be?

Thanks in advance!

There are a few pointers:
swtpm_setup: Not overwriting existing state file.
Could not open '/var/lib/vz/images/201/base-201-disk-0.qcow2'

Examine /var/lib/vz/images/201/ and see if you have some sort of unwanted leftover there. Also examine your VMs configuration - are you using the above disk elsewhere by accident?
The "base" in the filename implies that a template is in use, are you trying to start a clone? did you convert things back and forth?

What is your output of "pveversion -v" ?
What is output of "qm config 201" and any other involved VMID?
