We have a production cluster running with Proxmox 1.8 using kernel 2.6.18-6-pve
I noew need to add a new machine to this cluster.
After install the default kernel is installed (.32) this was always the case so I looked up how we used to change the kernel to have the Openvz support we need.

It seems that 2.6.18-6-pve is no longer available?
Can it still be installed from the prompt?
If not are .18 and .32 compatible with each other so we can still migrate containers between nodes?

1.x series is generally end of live. use latest 2.x.

Tom, can you PLEASE, PLEASE answer my question without this generic 'use the last update' answer?
I need a real world solution to a real world problem.

Is there a way to obtain the .18 kernel?
Or can we use a mixed .18/.32 cluster?

Thank you very much in advance.

I thought my answer was clear. As its end-of-live its also end of support and end of answering questions.

all *.deb packages form 1.x releases are still online, see http://download.proxmox.com/

there are multiple issues with the old version (lenny based) and I really force you to NOT use the old versions and kernels.

this is nothing unfriendly, this is just the very clear statement that you should use the supported and maintained packages as otherwise you put yourself and your data at risk.

Dear Tom,

I appreciate your advice and will follow it asap but in the meantime I have problems at hand that needs to be solved.
