Issues with GPU Passthrough...

Hey Everyone,

Setup and using proxmox fine, decided to add a GPU to the system so I installed it and followed the instructions as per the Wiki.

When I do...

amd_iommu=on does nothing, not even on an AMD system (as it is enabled by default) but definately not on your Intel system. Use intel_iommu=on for and Intel system according to the Proxmox manual. video=efifb:off does nothing for recent Proxmox versions and you need this work-around if you want to passthrough the boot GPU, which you don't appear to do. iommu=pt probably does nothing for your system.

None of the above has anything to do with the RX470 not showing up with lspci. Maybe the PCIe slot is disabled, which happens sometimes because a M.2 slot is used and they share the PCIe lanes. Can you provide a link to your motherboard manual? Or you did not plugin the PCIe power cables for the GPU. Or the GPU or the PCIe slot is broken.

Power to the GPU is on and fans spin, currently have BIOS set to boot using onboard graphics to keep it free for proxmox to use.

I am using an M.2. so will check this config next but settings all set to Auto from memory.
 
Update : Does not seem to be anything to do with PCIe slot - no option to disable / enable it.
