Proxmox UI does not really like curlftpfs?

I have some FTP backup storage which I try to mount into the fs for better usability.
I use curlftpfs (Version: 0.9.2-3) out of the standard repository which works almost perfectly:
vzdump and vzrestore work perfectly.
df reports the mount as "Size: 7.5TB, Used: 0, Avail: 7.5TB". Actually the size is only 100GB and some 30GB used within a dozen files located in the main directory of the mount.
The Pomox UI shows a blank page for this storage

Shame on me, I didn't think to put the dumps into the dump subdirectory

so curlftpfs woks quite well. I tried sshfs as well, it does have a similar problem in evaluating the size of the mount
