Poor pveperf

Hi I am using HP DL160 HP410i with 4 SATA 2TB drives ( Raid 1+0). Server did not have installed cache and battery so we did that, but pveperf still shows some wierd numbers and after running couple of containers I get this numbers ( running the cont's )

this is awfull, any ideas ?!

you need to run the benchmark several times and make sure that the server is not under load - and do not expect to much from cheap sata disks.

Actually they were not so cheap sata disks .. WDC WD1003FBYX-0 guess are ok 1TB drives .. but after installing 512 mb cache on controller and battery pack, there is still everything slow, IO-s are over 50% ...

yes this was measured under load ...

will try at evening shutting down the containers and try then..

yes, cheap was the wrong word. lets call them cheapest enterprise disks.

best performance: 15krpm sas disks - also your raid controller is known not to be the performance king.

what filesystem to you run on /var/lib/vz?

But still I guess it should perform abit better don't you think... I just recently installed write cache ... but I see no drastic difference ?!

you need to run reliable benchmarks with and without cache enable, then you can compare results.
