Hi!

I set up the VM-network by using this tutorial: http://wiki.hetzner.de/index.php/KVM_mit_Nutzung_aller_IPs_aus_Subnetz (Translation: http://translate.google.com/transla...ller_IPs_aus_Subnetz&sl=de&tl=en&hl=&ie=UTF-8)

But there is an Problem when restarting the network (/etc/init.d/networking restart): No VM (KVM and OpenVZ) is still connectet to the internet. After rebooting the VMs the problem is gone.

How can I fix this problem without rebooting each VM?

I hope you understand my english (I'm from Germany) and I hope you can help me.

Thanks in advance!

Max

Hi macday!

Thx for your answer.

I tried typing ifdown vmbr2 and ifup vmbr2 but it still not works... I had to reboot the VMs agin.

/etc/init.d/networking restart shows some warnings, but I think they're not important.

Code:
hugo:/opt# /etc/init.d/networking restart

What's wrong with it?

Just for information : we have the same problem with Proxmox VE 3.0

after /etc/init.d/networking restart

the VM (Linux 2.6, Win 2k8, Win 2k12) cannot be reached anymork (network unreachable)

... does somebody have any clues about such a problem ?

Hi jbennet,

I have found a solution for this.

I have removed the bridge when the network interface shuts down. So all interfaces were removed from the bridge. I had to manually add the vm interface to the bridge again to enable the network again. See: $ bridgectl --help
