I upgrade to the latest revision of proxmox-ve 1.5.10
pve-manager: 1.5-10 (pve-manager/1.5/4822)
running kernel: 2.6.24-8-pve
pve-kernel-2.6.24-7-pve: 2.6.24-11
pve-kernel-2.6.24-8-pve: 2.6.24-16
qemu-server: 1.1-16
pve-firmware: 1.0-5
libpve-storage-perl: 1.0-13
vncterm: 0.9-2
vzctl: 3.0.23-1pve11
vzdump: 1.2-5
vzprocps: 2.0.11-1dso2
vzquota: 3.0.11-1

When I try to create a KVM VM I get a frozen screen with this message:

Starting SeaBIOS ( Version......)

gPXE (htt://....) - 00:03.0 C900 PCI2.10 Pnp BBS PMM7FE0@10 C900

OK, got the very same problem here, when trying to use our backup host box to fire up VMs I brought over from our primary host (both are updated/upgraded to latest everything). pvevervsion -v gives me:

pve-manager: 1.5-10 (pve-manager/1.5/4822)
running kernel: 2.6.24-7-pve
pve-kernel-2.6.24-7-pve: 2.6.24-11
qemu-server: 1.1-16
pve-firmware: 1.0-5
libpve-storage-perl: 1.0-13
vncterm: 0.9-2
vzctl: 3.0.23-1pve11
vzdump: 1.2-5
vzprocps: 2.0.11-1dso2
vzquota: 3.0.11-1

It's worse on the main box - that's in another thread on the forum - but on this backup box, snapshots of VMs just give the error saddb describes. I had tested doing snapshots and bringing them up on the backup box before, successfully.

OK, changing to kernel 2.6.24-11-pve with aptitude install pve-kernel-2.6.24-11-pve fixed things. Makes me very wary about doing updates.
