data transfer causes host to reset

Whenever I transfer 10G+ data to or from guest VM, with rsync or sftp, after a short period it resets the host as if somebody pressed the "reset" button. I tried this on two different guests with the same result. All of my VMs installed on LVM. If I do the same transfer to the host, without involving guest VMs, there is no issue. Problem appears only when doing data transfer to or from guest VM. The only way I can get it to no to reset is to set bandwidth limit on the network interface to 5mb/s. I reinstalled the host, I recreated the guest VMs, I tried sata and virtio devices, Intel and VirtIO network interface. I can create a 500GB file with dd and then copy it with rsync inside the VM. Works great. I wasn't able to find anything relevant in the logs, or maybe I just don't know where to look or what to look for.
This is on a rented dedicated server. Thank you for your help.

After more troubleshooting, seems that the issue is with LVM on the guest. If I'm not using LVM, everything is working. Btw, my VM is debian 7. Is there a problem with using LVM on the guest virtual machines? Or is it just me?
