Hey All,
I'm in a great environment right now:
2 x Openfiler NFS backend with DRBD
3 x Proxmox 3.x Hosts with about 20 VMs (all KVM)
The systems are all on 10G networking, the backend storage is 24 disk arrays (spinning) with 4GB RAID cards and replication dedicated 10G cards.
Anyway, we built this system quite some time ago now and we're seeing some interesting new desires.
My biggest pain point is lack of tiered storage with SSD caching. (Reduced DB performance based on load)
For the next iteration I will need to implement tiered storage with block level replication.
I've used the VMWare option (vSAN) and it works pretty well with super beefy hardware, but it's got some deal ending limitations for me (outside of cost).
What options do I have to continue using proxmox for a tiered backend storage system with block level replication? Anything on the roadmap or already built-in for PVE 4.x ?
