Ubuntu boot order issues with VirtIO

To get some increased performance with Ubuntu, I changed the disk to VirtIO. After doing this, the guest machine will not boot automatically - it will sit in a loop trying to netboot until I manually go in and hit f12 to choose VirtIO, which is listed as option 3 under the netboot.

Does anyone know how I can fix this? I am assuming it would be a setting in the guest BIOS but I have no idea how to change it.

So you have installed Ubuntu with bus (for example) SATA or SCSI? And then you have changed to virtio? When yes you have changed the bus, so you must also change the fstab. When you have UUID, change to new UUID per disk.
