I have a VM with CentOS installed to SCSI disk, i need high IO speed and i would convert to VIRTIO, is possible?

0) Power-off the server.

Under the hardware tab for the server:
1) highlight the disk
2) Press remove. As a result your disk will be listed as unused
3) Double-click the now listed disk as unused
4) choose virtio for bus
5) Press options tab
6) Double-click the line saying 'boot order'
7) choose your disk now saying 'Disk 'virtio0'

8) start server again

Sorry for wakup an old topic.
But, the steps writing by @mir, do they still work in current version (proxmox 6)?
If so, do steps above work in the oposit situation (virtio to iscsi)?

Yes, still the same. Changes might be needed inside the guest (like rebuilding the initrd), but this depends on the guest (and for centos, it shouldn't be needed)

Very thanks.
I didn't even know about this solution.
I get more and more surprised by Proxmox.
