I admin a 2 node proxmox cluster, our shared storage is a NFS share on a NAS (1GB ethernet). The NAS has 4 * 3TB Disks in RAID 10 for 6TB of storage, but the VM's only use 1TB
Performance and reliability of the NAS is becoming an issue, so I'm looking at adding some hard disks to the proxmox nodes and creating a gluster filesystem across them for shared storage. I'd like 3TB available.
The obvious setup is to just add 1 3TB Disk (Western Digital Red) to each node, effectively RAID1
But is that bad for performance? each node will be running 8 vm's - should I setup 2 * 3TB disks on each node in a software RAID1?
