is it possible to work with Proxmox without LVM?

because im currently having issues when trying to use lvm with custom raid, i have this installation on my server.

root@server:~# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
udev 10M 0 10M 0% /dev
tmpfs 3.2G 348K 3.2G 1% /run
/dev/md2 20G 1.1G 18G 6% /
tmpfs 5.0M 0 5.0M 0% /run/lock
tmpfs 7.1G 3.1M 7.1G 1% /run/shm
/dev/md4 3.6T 197M 3.4T 1% /var/lib/vz
/dev/fuse 30M 12K 30M 1% /etc/pve

this is only soft raid, md2 is raid1 and md4 is raid0

basically i want to know if i can use it this way or LVM is absolutely necessary.

Regards.

only if you want to make snapshot backups of containers.
No downtime or absolute minimum downtime backups and migration will still be available without LVM ?
Or what would be the downtime for lets say 10GB data VPS please?
