Change size of IDE0

1) Proxmox: Hi how do I change the size of the Ide0 on a VM ? I want ot have it a bit larger.

2) Linux: Will ubuntu linux find the new hdisk space or must I run some command so Linux "see" that the hdisk is larger.

3) Proxmox: I also are trying to see how mutch hdiskspace that is avaliable in Proxmox to use and how mutch that is used?

2) not sure I'll see the new size for ide without rebooting the vm.

3) in gui, you can on your storage in the left tree, you can see space use/available.

Hi I have tried both to change the size of the hdisk in the virtual enviroment and from command line.. I get following errror

VM 105 qmp command 'block_resize' failed - this feature or command is not currently supported

I then stopped the VM

And tried some commands..

qm resize 105 ide0 +170G

and qm resize vm-105-disk-1.qcow2 +170G

Still no luck in teh Gui or in the command window.
I get an error 500

Any idea what is problem?

No I am using version 2.3

I also tried the update script to ver 3.0 in the sticked post but I got some errors.

SO if I upodate to ver 3 thsi shoudl work fine?

why do you have some "not correctly installed" packages?

try to fix.

Packages are all ok now. and rezizing of hdisk can be done in GUI.

qemu-img: Can't resize an image which has snapshots
qemu-img: This image does not support resize

удали snapshots

you need to remove snapshop first, this is a limitation of qcow2 format.
