    Default Question about memory

    Hi all

    I'm using Proxmox VE for testing and production server for a month.
    Proxmox VE is work very well, thank you dev team

    But i have some problem about memory of my test server that have 4GB memory.

    Test server #1
    # free -m
    total used free shared buffers cached
    Mem: 3261 354 2907 0 16 212


    Test server #2
    # free -m
    total used free shared buffers cached
    Mem: 3937 2892 1045 0 433 1596


    Why my server can't see full memory ?

    Server information
    # pveversion -v

    pve-kernel: 2.6.24-5
    pve-kvm: 83-1
    pve-firmware: 1
    vncterm: 0.9-1

    vzquota: 3.0.11-1dso1

    # uname -a
    Linux zion-3 2.6.24-2-pve #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Jan 14 11:32:49 CET 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux

    Maybe some memory is reserved by the bios, or allocated by a graphics card?

    server's bios show 4096 and built-in vga fixed 64mb of memory.

    any idea ?

    hardware defect? run a memory test.

    Memory test is fine.
    My memory is not broken
