Access a VM directly from Host Node Shell

Is there anyway to do this? We're doing KVM templating via copying .raw images and want to get into the VM through SSH / etc to bind IPs, reset passwords, etc

only for OpenVZ container.

for KVM there is currently no such feature, just use "traditional" methods.

I see - no way to even pass through commands via serial?
