But Windows 8 x64 virtual system working properly on some (equal) system.

I tried "KVM Hardvare virtualization" switch On and Off, "OS Type" to Other OS types (other), but no affect.
Any idea?

its a known issue. use 64-bit win8.

Hi,

I ran into this isue aswell :(

I was just playing around with the settings, and the following seems to be working with the 32 Bit windows8 iso!!

Hardware:
CPU: 2 (1 sockets, 2 cores) [core2duo]

Options:
KVM hardware virtualization = no

All the rest is just defaults!
but i got the windows setup screen now, so im going for it and hope it works :)

Just hope this helps some of you guys aswell :)

Kindly
Niels

Sorry guys.. might have been a little quick there!
After install the VM reboots, and i get the errors again, very buggy... haven't had a single successful boot so far :(

I just got it to boot the VM!

I found a workaround for the:
0x0000005D Error!

In the config:
/etc/pve/qemu-server/VMID.conf

i just added:
"args +nx" without the quotes
To Enable no execute bit, beware, changing any settings in the VM in proxmox will overwrite the .conf and you need to add it again!

Here is my complete conf:

bootdisk: ide0
cores: 2
cpu: core2duo
ide0: local:702/vm-702-disk-1.raw,size=32G
ide2: none,media=cdrom,size=2491126K
kvm: 0
memory: 2048
name: HOSTNAME!
net0: e1000=02:00:00:64:07:DB,bridge=vmbr0
ostype: win8
sockets: 1
args +nx

Alright.....

Im gonna stop posting here now..
It just stopped booting, and then for no apparent reason booted up again after a few tries..
Im at a loss to why, and it's possibly just because running win8 32bit is EXTREMELY BUGGY!

Kindly
Niels

Hi this is an old post, I don't known if this can help:

add in your vm config file:

args: -cpu kvm64,+sep
