Just installed (fresh installation from ISO),
console don't works anymore :-(
Release notes say "openvz: use real console instead of 'vzctl enter'" maybe this is the cause.........

Thank you very much.
It is already running on my servers.
I have just a problem with Sheepdog for the moment.

Merci à toute l'équipe de proxmox.

Hi,

Maybe stupid question, but in past I always updated it via aptitude update, aptitude safe-upgrade. Is it still valid way ??? I never used full-upgrade... is it safe for my distro ??? I use distro from Proxmox ISO.

Regards,
Michu

just follow the howto in the first post.

I notice that qemu-kvm is up to 1.2 now. Does that mean we can use guest agent now? I would really love a way to get the hostname that was defined for a windows VM and use that in a DHCP request.

The 'Bus/Device' selector now contains IDE, SATA, SCSI and VIRTIO.
Not here. See attached screenshot.

Low performance of data transfer over cifs mounts

Hi all!

We just released Proxmox VE 2.2, including countless improvements and a lot of exiting new features like live snapshots for KVM guests.

We have upgraded one of our cluster nodes to 2.2. We noted that performance of data transfer over smb mounts is severely impacted on
machines configured with more than one sockets/cores configured.

With 2 cores we have max 1.5 MB/s, with 1 core over 30 MB/s .

I have still to try with other protocols.

bye,
rob

tried with scp;

with 2 Cores : 70MB/s
with 1 Core : 4MB/s

Re: Low performance of data transfer over cifs mounts

I can agree with this. As soon as more then 1 core has been assigned to a KVM VM, the transfer is terrible.

With 4 cores:
1-4 MB/s

With 1 core:
70-90MB/s

If I change the network adapter from VirtIO to Intel E1000, the transfer is going much better, but still it's limited to ~ 30MB/s where it should be around 1xxMB/s.

So the problem only show up on smb mounts?

no, I have verified this also via scp, transfer rate passes from 70MB/s to 4MB/s.

I opened also a Ticket for this issue.
