Hi,

I'm using PVE 2.1-1 with 2.6.32 OVH kernel. After migration from PVE 1.7 to 2.1 OpenVZ container with Windows Server 2008 R2 started to work improperly. When You work by remote desktop You see that machine is not responding for 2-5 seconds irreguraly (every 10-50 seconds). At this moments there are packet losses or high 1-4 pings on Windows - for distant hosts. There are no leaks to the host machine. I've tried all network adapters with newest drivers including virtio. I've tried machine as routed address, masquerade on venet0, nothing helps. Maybe processor is the problem (I've tried few of them in GUI) but why machine freezes for some time - I understand slow work but a total freeze every few seconds? I'm considering switching to other virtualization because working on remote desktop is now impossible...

Please Help me.

post the output of 'pveversion -v' and also your VMID settings of the windows VM (cat /etc/pve/qemu-server/VMID.conf)

and the results of 'pveperf'

Hi,

I've changed successfully disk and network controller to this what You posted - drivers were installed ok for my Win Server 2008 R2 x64 (virtio drivers for disk and network).

No good news - still there are freezes every few seconds while using Windows remote desktop as a example. RDP is not a problem - internet access from guest is also unstable/freezing. I'am not sure is this a network or machine I/O problem, rather second one I think. Can I switch to 1.x openvz virtualization mathod?

you cannot run windows on OpenVZ.

I suggest you install another KVM guest, e.g. Linux (Debian Squeeze or Ubuntu) and test your network/host.

By doing this, you will see if its a windows issue or not.
