Hi everyone,
I was wondering if I could get some suggestion for setting up temporary scratch space for non-critical data.
Best balanced I/O performance (typical file size ranges 50k ~ 1MB each) is the priority.
VMs (volblocksize = 16k) are all on ZFS-mirrored enterprise U.2 SSD.
But the...

Hello,
1. Because I passthrough the only graphics card, once the PVE gets to "Reading all physical volumes...", I no longer can use the console.
If I make some change that lock myself out of web interface (for example, change network config), I guess that I have no way to get into the system...
Due to some restrictions, I have to use two NICs on my Proxmox node in the following way:
For example:
NIC1: 10.10.10.xxx, just one IP assigned by the facility to the Proxmox Node, able to access internet via their firewall
NIC2: 192.168.150.xxx, connected to my own router (192.168.150.1)
Can...
Hi all,
PVE: Latest 6.4-5 (PVE 5.4.106-1)
Total system RAM is 256GB
SSD is WD SN750 2T x 6 in RAID-Z2, compression=lz4
VM : cache=writeback discard=on, size=501G, ssd=1 (see attached code)
VM Crystal Disk's RND 4K and IOPs are much slower than individual drive in bare-metal system.
Some other...
Hello,
Urgently need help. I have research work data on it:oops:
Story:
My GPU passthrough has been working well on both 6.2.55 and 65. Because I used update-initramfs -u -k all, both .55 and .65 has GPU frame buffer disable thus no host display out. I was trying to reverse GPU passthrough...
Hi all,
I had some issue to connect to my proxmox sever which does not have IPMI (or iKVM).
It is build on a Threadripper workstation with MSI TRX40 motherboard.
I fixed the issue, which is not related to the proxmox.
That lead me thinking:
Since my only GPU has been passthrough, the frame...
Hi all,
I have created two zfs pools with the simplest command: zpool create <pool> <device> at the begining.
It seems have no log (aka zil or slog) and cache. I believe I did turn on lz4 compression for all three.
My question is: in my case, do I need log or cache for each pool?
zpool status...

The turnkey LXC is unprivileged.

Please help, I have important data on the LXC.
Two days ago, I rebooted host, and Turnkey SMB LXC doesn't start due to this error.

Update:
I am chasing the ghost here.
I have set high performance in Win10 new setting menu in VM412. But the old style power plan (now called additional power plan setting) is still on balanced. Duh.
Now VM412's bench are similar to VM500.
The reason why VM500 has good benchmarks at the...
Hello,

MB: MSI TRX40 Pro Wifi
BIOS is set to be CSM+UEFI and install was successful. IOMMU and SVM set enable

[cross posted on STH]
I work in a research lab that we recently purchased a Threadripper 3970x workstation from a System Integrator.
It is a better better deal than Dell-Intel, which would have cost us twice as much.
The role is to run Proxmox as base Hypervisor and run multiple Windows and...
Hi,
I have a workstation with MSI TRX40 motherboad, which comes with a Dual SSD PCIE card to allow two SSDs on the card to split a PCIE x16 lane.
Quad card can also be purchased.
I was wondering how proxmox will see them when passing through nvme SSDs on the Dual or Quad card.
Will they behave...
