    openSUSE 12.x template

Hello Does someone have openvz template for openSUSE 12.x , I don't get the templates from http://wiki.openvz.org/Download/template/precreated to work anymore, the last working suse was 11.1 and I were able to dup until 11.4. But either the official templates or dup to 12.1 doesn't work...

live migration from 1.9 to 2.1

Hello I have a current running proxmox 1.9 with openvz containers and a new proxmox 2.1 and wonder if I am able to run a live migration or at least a migation with very low downtime. Is it possible to create a cluster with nodes of different proxmox versions? What would you recommend to do...

Will you also release a upgrade script just to change distro to squeeze (without upgrade to proxmox 2)

    Debian upgrade to squeeze

Since today, debian deleted the lenny repos and we got errors on update, I guess, this means we _need_ to upgrade to squeeze finally :-) I found this guide: http://www.debian.org/releases/squeeze/amd64/release-notes/ch-upgrading.en.html but I am wondering, if we need to consider some special...

    Oracle Java not distributed anymore....

So no plans to make it work with openjdk? :-( It's not about if I am able to, maybe I am, it's about that I need to, the fact that I don't need to search the whole Internet for Software is the reason, I use Linux also as Desktop.

    Oracle Java not distributed anymore....

It's not about "will forbid", it is already removed from some distros like Debian and openSUSE, opendjk does not work with the proxmox vnc client, does it for you?

    Oracle Java not distributed anymore....

Since Oracle forbids to distribute java, it is quite hard to get java installed on a linux system, are there any plans to get your vnc client working with openjdk? Greets and Thanks Ammler

serious memory issues with proxmox 2.6.32

since some months now, we have regulary issues with memory managment, played around /proc/sys/vm/swappiness, but yet not found a fix. The kernel often isn't able to handle memory when it unused memory goes to 0... if we use default (60), it swappes active memory and so IO goes crazy. We played...

    start order of openvz containers

is it possible to configure the start order of vz containers, I have mounted a directory in 102 to 101, but then 101 needs to be started after 102, is that somehow possible to archive or do I need to change the ID? If so, how to change the ID so it still works everwhere? Greets Ammler

openvz: share disks between different containers

Yes, I made it with that wiki, also shame I am not able to reproduce it anymore after extending the disks.

openvz: share disks between different containers

This might not be directly related to proxmox, anyway I try to ask here, tell me, if I shall go elsewere.. ;-) I like to share a disk from one container with an other, therefor I created /etc/vz/conf/101.mount: #!/bin/bash source /etc/vz/vz.conf source ${VE_CONFFILE} mount -r --bind...

    openvz / lxc

zypper dup works fine, but still it doesn't support it officially anymore... (I run suse 11.3 on all my new vpses, install template 11.1 and distro upgrade to 11.3)
  17. A

    openvz / lxc

yes, but doesn't mean, we can use CentOS/Fedora RPM's
  18. A

    openvz / lxc

yes, as I said ;-) Still the Guests are becoming worse and worse... e.g. you don't get openvz templates for openSUSE 11.3 anymore, and upgrade from 11.1 to 11.3 works but you get some dependencies issues...
  19. A

    openvz / lxc

No; running Debian derivate as hypervisor is fine, I meant the support for Guests is going worse, if I read right, not just with Suse...
  20. A

    openvz / lxc

I also really hope of future release with lxc as our favorite distro SUSE doesn't support openvz anymore too.
