Windows server 2012R2 not shutting down

Hello. I did all modification from https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Windows_2012_guest_best_practices. Windows server will shut down by pressing shutdown button in proxmox web interface. But during proxmox system reboot, this virtual machine is ignoring shutdown requests. What am I doing wrong?

After update to kernel vmlinuz-2.6.32-28-pve or 2.6.32-29-pve the backup hangs again

Re: After update to kernel vmlinuz-2.6.32-28-pve or 2.6.32-29-pve the backup hangs ag I found two ways to make backup working: Use sshfs - always works for me (NFS nor CIFS dont) or make your custom backup script which uses LVM snapshot. LVM snapshot is a good feature so I dont think it was...

After update to kernel vmlinuz-2.6.32-28-pve or 2.6.32-29-pve the backup hangs again

Re: After update to kernel vmlinuz-2.6.32-28-pve or 2.6.32-29-pve the backup hangs ag I think there is something with vzdump design, I had the same problem with cifs, now with NFS. See https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/18491-NFS-backup-freezes-all-virtual-machines and...

NFS backup freezes all virtual machines

I am using latest proxmox, latest kernel (pve-kernel-3.10.0-2-pve because 2.6.32 did not work well with adaptec 6405). When doing backup to NFS storage, machines always start freezing (INFO: task jbd2/vda1-8:299 blocked for more than 120 seconds, ... inside virt. machines). I had the same...

Rootdelay kernel parameter needed with Proxmox VE 3.2 and Adaptec 6405 with ZMCP

This problem seems to be quite serious because even rootdelay does not work always. Today a upgraded to the latest 2.6.32-28 kernel and system did not boot for the first time.

Snapshot backup can cause KVM guest freeze on proxmox 3.2

Even with this kernel backup will stop (and all other transfers) when multiple transfers are running (e.g. manually dd if=/dev/pve/root ... ) together with proxmox backup. But it seems now it is killable - I can "kill -9" dd processes and proxmox backup will start/continue successfully. Now I...

Snapshot backup can cause KVM guest freeze on proxmox 3.2

I located the problem. It is kernel hang on cifs mount. I dont know why but even other apps (dd) hangs in case of cifs lost connection. But it is quite strange because I use "soft" as a mount option (which should be even default). It could be a good feature for snapshot system to be able to...

Snapshot backup can cause KVM guest freeze on proxmox 3.2

No. Backup server is physical server with CIFS share named "virt". This share is mounted on proxmox server to "/mnt/backup". There were some issues with backup server (overloaded, not related to proxmox). But this issue occured while running backup of "web" virtual machine so backup was freezed...

Snapshot backup can cause KVM guest freeze on proxmox 3.2

Hello. I am using proxmox 3.2. Currently I am using manual snapshot backups for my KVM guests. All my guests are KVM on pve LVM volume. I am using CIFS share mounted to /mnt/backup via fstab. Today my backup server was overloaded and there were some connection problems. I was expecting backup...

Rootdelay kernel parameter needed with Proxmox VE 3.2 and Adaptec 6405 with ZMCP

... and scsi_mod.scan=sync does not work, it seems that it works if adaptec is not charging ZMC module.

Rootdelay kernel parameter needed with Proxmox VE 3.2 and Adaptec 6405 with ZMCP

Hello, I am new to proxmox. I installed the latest version and discovered that very often system cannot boot (init can not find root). Rootdelay=someseconds (I set 20 to be sure) fixes this issue. Is there any default delay value or not?
