Server randomly rebooting without logs/info Proxmox 4.1

Hi All, I've installed Proxmox 4.1 on brand new hardware, Asus board, 8GB ram, Core i5 processor. I opted to install Proxmox with a ZFS Raid-1 configuration on the two installed HSGT 2TB hard disks. The problem I'm encountering is that at seemingly random point and I can replicate the issue...

ARP across different subnets with one NIC per guest

Hi All, Recently I posted in another forum about a strange issue I've discovered with one of our VM's. I had thought the issue may have been something specific to Debian as our windows hosts don't seem to have this issue, but it seems not. In the proxmox environment I have one vmbr device...

Ubuntu/Debian guest virtual drives 100% full when they're not; cannot reset free spac

Re: Ubuntu/Debian guest virtual drives 100% full when they're not; cannot reset free Hi Manu, Sorry, what I'm trying to say is that there is only a much smaller portion of 'properly' used space; the rest in "df -h" is showing as used, but when running "du / -ch" is comes up as: user@svr001:~#...

Ubuntu/Debian guest virtual drives 100% full when they're not; cannot reset free spac

Hi All, I have a strange issue that's appeared in some (not all) of my Ubuntu/Debian guest OS's. This particular server experienced an improper shutdown as a result of an environmental issue and upon restarting the server, some of the Ubuntu/Debian guests were reporting the root drive to be...

On guest: rootfs 100% full, but only 622MB actually used; can't rectify?

Hi All, I've encountered this error a couple of times on my VM guests now and normally I can clear the issue with a simple reboot or reboot with fsck, but unfortunately, this time, it just won't clear. The problem I'm having is that the 'rootfs' partition is reporting as 100% full but it's...

[SOLVED] Subscription installed, but no Update tab?

Would love to; how does one do that? Is there a button/link which I'm not seeing, or do I edit the title to "SOLVED: ..."

[SOLVED] Subscription installed, but no Update tab?

Problem has been solved by Proxmox support - enterprise upgrades aren't possible on the 3.0 version; that was only introduced in version 3.1. After manually upgrading to 3.1, the enterprise upgrade worked perfectly.

[SOLVED] Subscription installed, but no Update tab?

Hi Mir, Thanks for the reply. I've tried that one, but keep coming up with this error (even over 1Hr after activating a subscription): Err https://enterprise.proxmox.com wheezy/pve-enterprise amd64 Packages...

[SOLVED] Subscription installed, but no Update tab?

Hi All, I just purchased a subscription as I want to upgrade from 3.0-17 to 3.3; but I don't see any 'Updates' tab in the web console? Can someone tell me how I can get the updates done? I'd like to try and minimize rebooting if I can! Thanks Anubis.

    Dedicate physical eth to KVM

Hi Pirateghost, Can you tell me the version of Proxmox you're using where this is working? It's still not happening in our version and I need to get this resolved? Thanks Anubis.

    Dedicate physical eth to KVM

Hi All, I've added some additional information below. I can see from the remote host that pings are reaching it and they're indeed coming back, but for some reason, despite the fact the replies are getting to the proxmox interface, they're not being pushed across the bridge. ifconfig of all...

    Dedicate physical eth to KVM

Hi All, Does anyone have any idea why this issue might be occurring? Outbound VLAN traffic seems to be getting applied correctly, but inbound appears to keep breaking. Thanks. Anubis.

    Dedicate physical eth to KVM

Hi All, After further testing here are the results... With the setup as: Cisco Switch Port (trunk mode) > Host eth3 > vmbr3 > Guest KVM eth1 > eth1.100 When attempting to ping a host on the vlan #100, I can see the ping getting to the remote host from the guest KVM and I can see the remote...

    Dedicate physical eth to KVM

Hi All, @tuxmin The switch port is configured correctly (as a trunk) as this same port was used with the previous physical server that the proxmox KVM is replacing. This switchport is connected directly to eth3 on the host which is the only port mapped to vmbr3. The solution you posted...

    Dedicate physical eth to KVM

Hi Pirateghost, Thanks for your reply. That's exactly what I've done, but I'm not getting any traffic in or out of that interface. I also tried on another eth interface, same thing. Other VM's (that don't rely on VLAN's) work normally on the host. eth3 > vmbr3 > kvm Is there a command I...

    Dedicate physical eth to KVM

Hi All, I have a KVM which needs to have a physical eth dedicated to it, so that it can see/work with all VLAN's. I cannot use a fixed numbered solution (specifying the VLAN's in the host and then creating bridges up to the KVM); as the VLAN's can change regularly. How can I get the KVM to...

Can't connect to Web GUI over high-latency links.

Hi All, I'm currently using Proxmox VE 3 on a server which resides on the other end of a satellite link. The nominal latency for this link is around 600ms+. When attempting to access the web management remotely (from the other end of the satellite link) I get the initial warning about the...

    PVE 3 stops responding overnight

Hi All, I'm in the process of setting up a new server with Proxmox 3 on it. It's running about 7 VM's. Last night, only two were powered on and not doing anything (as I'm still in the process of setting the server up) but when I came into work this morning, the server had stopped responding...
