I do most of my creation/cloning of VMs from the CLI and with Ansible. I was wondering if there was a way to I don't have to explicitly define the new vmid. When working in the WebUI it will always suggest the next vmid to use, so I was wondering if there was a way to take advantage of that...
After looking into this further, it doesn't appear that I'll ever be able to chattr over a NAS share...at least not with how Synology is configured from a system-hardening perspective...and it makes sense. There is no direct root access, for good reason, without a privilege escalation...which is...
Thanks @bbgeek17! I've actually done exactly as you mentioned. I've tried this from my pve instances using both CIFS and NFS (currently CIFS), and both have the same resulting error. If I go to my Synology NAS I can do it locally with the same proxmox user I created to map the share, but I have...
I get this message when attempting to convert a VM that has disks in shared storage to a template:
root@pve2:/mnt/pve/fs1/cloudinit# qm template 9000
/usr/bin/chattr: Operation not supported while setting flags on /mnt/pve/fs1/images/9000/base-9000-disk-0.raw

I'm seeing a small inconsistency...nothing impacting usability. I have two servers I installed at the same time, with the same version, and I'm seeing a GUI display inconsistency. If you look at the two screenshots below, just to the right of the PROXMOX logo in the top left corner you'll see...
Unfortunately they are not related. I've been following a mailing list for qemu that dietmar has been discussing this issue in. This isn't a Proxmox related issue. There is no fix yet, just a workaround, but the work around unfortunately involves disabling vhost which triggers the issue.
I saw the workaround in the bug. I was just hesitant to implement it in case you had a fix upcoming as that is the cleaner way IMO. Thanks for the quick response!
It doesn't look like it but I'll ask just in case. Did this fix bug #278 for slow virtio nic? I see the bug doesn't show resolved and this doesn't reflect it either so likely not. I'm just asking because I'm waiting on that to move forward. Thank you!
Thank you for the quick response Tom! Forgive me for asking but is there a specific mirror I should be referring to, to replace with? I apologize for even asking as I don't have a support contract and am just working on a trial to purchase right now. I'm not really a Debian guy / more Redhat...
I just did a clean/fresh install of Proxmox VE 2.2 on a server today that was previously running Proxmox VE 2.1 without issue. When I went to run apt-get update one of the messages I got said:
GPG error: ftp us debian org URL (Don't know if you can post URL's here) squeeze Release: The...
My apologies. The first time I sent the message my internet dropped and I thought it hadn't gone through. That is why you saw the question twice as I sent it again, although much shorter this time, because I was frustrated thinking the internet drop had caused my first one to get lost.
Thank...
Thanks again for the quick response. I also added another note, because I realized I asked this first one incorrectly, asking if that still included automatic software updates as I wrote this before:
So I assume I wouldn't be able to upgrade to remotely SSH into the Proxmox VE nodes unless...
Thanks for the quick reply. I also just realized that I incorrectly wrote "Are those features not available unless I license them? So I assume I wouldn't be able to upgrade to remotely SSH into the Proxmox VE nodes unless purchased a license?" when I intended on stating that as an OR like "Are...
I want to test out Proxmox VE and was reading one of the pages on Subscription Service Plans http://www.proxmox.com/products/proxmox-ve/subscription-service-plans. My question is if I just want to test it out will I have access to all features? The reason I ask is because it mentions license...
