I've a VM that runs Docker that at startup mounts a NFS share where all the container volumes are stored, so I need to start that VM only when the NFS export (on the host) is ready: how do I do that?
I'm talking about the snapshot that I can take from the web UI.
I've tried to do it excluding RAM (I can't see how to exclude the vmstate volume) and it didn't show any size while taking it.
Is this the right way to exclude external mounts?
Edit: So, in this way it just split the disc and start...
It could definitely be!
I've created a snapshot and I saw that it occupied about 600MB
I've copied 4 GB to the NFS mount
I've created a new snapshot and while it was taking it I saw that it occupied about 4GB.
Thanks for your patience!
Sorry, but I'm not following you.
I've mounted the NFS inside the VM, I've created a snapshot, added 4GB, created another snapshot and this last one is 4GB bigger.
Do you mean that I need to mount the NFS from Proxmox and not inside the VM? How do I do that?
No cluster, I only have this single node.
I've solved with the infro from this post. Changing hostname creates a new datacenter, with the oldone still in place, So the file 100.conf and 101.conf already existed. I've copied 100.conf from the old folder to 102 into the new one and 101 into 103...
I did, with the same result.
I tried with a single file cp -rf /etc/pve/nodes/debian/qemu-server/100.conf /etc/pve/nodes/castore-host/qemu-server/ and the problem persist.
I didn't know that. How can I copy those 2 files?
I'm trying to copy all the contend of /etc/pve/nodes/OLD-HOSTNAME/ to /etc/pve/nodes/NEW-HOSTNAME/, but I get the error:
sudo cp -rf /etc/pve/nodes/debian/* /etc/pve/nodes/castore-host/
cp: cannot create regular file '/etc/pve/nodes/castore-host/qemu-server/101.conf': File exists
cp: cannot...
I have a VM with a NFS share mounted that will be about a couple of TB, how can I exclude it from snapshots?
If I will create a Proxmox HA (I still haven't had a look at it, so I don't know how it works), will it transfer the NFS share mounted with all the data?
Thanks!
I'm going crazy with NFS!
I've created the share like this/mnt/pool/var_VM_docker/ 172.31.0.0/24(rw,sync,no_subtree_check) (/etc/exports)
but in Proxmox when I try to add a NFS drive I get:
create storage failed: mount error: mount.nfs: access denied by server while mounting...
I'll give it a try, but I've read on different posts that it's more complicate to manage than BTRFS.
Edit: And with BTRFS it's possible to add drive of different size without any problem.
Yes, that I know, but once the disk is mounted, is it possible to mount the qcow2 files and read what's in it?
Hemmm...could you please point me to a guide? I only see ZFS under Disks.
Thanks!
