I'm just confirming what you have stated, Before adding a new pve host to a cluster, make sure the host can access the the storage. Once it is added to the cluster it will reconnect as shared storage to the new pve host. It will not make the connection to the storage IF it was not done prior to...
No, I was still searching for info about that. Do I select shared on each pve host that the same storage is connected to. ( I figure I should but I have to ask)
Hi All,
Prelim info:
Proxmox Version: 8.09
Server: Dell R630
Storage: Pure storage
I am creating a new proxmox cluster to replace individual pve hosts. The servers are connecting to pure storage using lvm over iscsi.
I have connected the pure storage to the new cluster using a single...
Hi Dominic,
I think I am just going to change the order of what to do.
1. remove that extra partition,
2. move the root drive of the vm on the local datastore: vm-602-disk-0 over to the filer.
3. recreate the extra storage on the filer
4. copy the data over from local...
Hi Fabian,
Datastore02 is local disk and map4_TB is iscsi storage on a pure filer. I am not getting an error now. My plans are to move the the datastore:vm-602-disk-0 to the pure filer and there is currently a disk named vm-602-disk-0. I just want to prevent future headaches.
I would be...

As both disks have the same name I am unable to move the existing disk to the iscsi filer.
I know this has happened to someone before so...
I found the issue was that the logical volumes were in the "inactive state". Once I made the logical volumes ACTIVE I added the disk lv to the vm. Made sure it was the boot disk. They booted up fine. Thanks
HI All
Newbie here,
I have a proxmox server that had an issue with a disk drive. It would throw up errors and caused the system to hang.
I figured I would try to get the old data off of the old disk.
My first thing I did was add new disks and image with the new 6.2 proxmox. Once it was done...
