    New mini-itx Proxmox Build

I had no problems with windows and kvm. A1SAi-2750 should be faster (turbo boost), however, when I was building my server I couldn't approve the extra 30-40$ for it. Mine runs well with pfsense too.

    New mini-itx Proxmox Build

Sorry for my delayed reply - It's really OK for a home server, very stable with 3.3, NIC's recognized, spice is working, I even virtualized my VyOS firewall without too much hassle. IMHO a nice box with additional fans is a must, cpu is getting quite hot under pressure. Added another 16GB of RAM...

    New mini-itx Proxmox Build

True enough, I just ignored its existence  due to the lack of habit using it - this is my first board with it. It works flawlessly, though! Anyway the real issue was with the usb installation - I failed again and again with "no cd rom found" no matter what I did. The wiki...

    New mini-itx Proxmox Build

Re: New Mini-itx Proxmox Build I have a 16gb san disk extreme which I am willing to use for this, the board have a nice internal Usb 3.0 port which is perfect for it. My plan is (was? it will be way easier to follow your advice as I see it, no good guide/wiki/anything really useful to be found...

    New mini-itx Proxmox Build

Re: New Mini-itx Proxmox Build Finally it is, got it half an hour ago :) Will try to put everything together tonight of course. Two questions - 1. is there a list of folders that needs to be mounted on a real/network drive (/var, /tmp, VM/CT has been mentioned by kobuki in a previous post) 2...

Re: New Mini-itx Proxmox Build My bad, I was really hungry. About PSU - I know, just wasn't able to find anything decent/value wise better than it. A1SRM-2758F-O Mobo RAM - Crucial Ballistic Sport - 2x8gb kit PSU - Corsair CX Series 430 Watt - Case - Corsair Air Flow 240 HDD/SSD - Crucial...

    New mini-itx Proxmox Build

Re: New Mini-itx Proxmox Build The more I look, the more I like this Rangeley board - it seems sufficient for a first time home server so I decided to stick with it. I was confused with the old model of this board - the real price of 2778 is 338$, which is still good and fit's the budget...

    New mini-itx Proxmox Build

Re: New Mini-itx Proxmox Build What case/psu do you have? This board is priced at 260$ in the moment, which makes it quite tempting, especially if the performance is not bad at all! So a quick build made of this boad, 256GB mx110, non-ecc ram ~ 140$, ecc ram ~ 180$, non-ecc ends remarkably at...

    New mini-itx Proxmox Build

Re: New Mini-itx Proxmox Build Ok guys, sorry for my delayed reply, busy day. As a long time pfsense user I already have atom mini-itx with 2gb of RAM serving proudly as a router on my 100mb fiber link (and due to it I am well aware of the realtek lan's), sharing it to half of the hood and I...

    New mini-itx Proxmox Build

Re: New Mini-itx Proxmox Build I was looking this board and to be honest it'll be most likely sufficient for my needs - what about performance? Price wise is pretty much the same as the xeon build (16gb RAM, 1 SSD, Case, PSU)My current virtualization experience is telling me to go for the RAM...

    New mini-itx Proxmox Build

Re: New Mini-itx Proxmox Build Hi everybody, Finally I had time to complete the build, please check it and if you have something to say, now is the time. I am figuring out that my initial plan with an USB flash drive wasn't that bad, however, with the current build the USB seems like an...
