[SOLVED] help!!! grub rescue - proxmox 8.1

I had the same issue (stuck on initramfs after booting from the USB stick with the EFI partition) My guess is that the boot cmdline is copied from the proxmox rescue boot when setting up the USB boot stick, so you need to change it to match your existing proxmox zfs root: I fixed it like this...

Install Proxmox in an OVH Vrack

Hi, resurrecting this thread... So what's the best way to configure a proxmox cluster with OVH vrack on a bare metal host? I have 3 bare metal OVH servers, all in the same VRACK, and a public IP subnet assigned to the VRACK. So far I've done this: ... (vmbr0 has the OVH public IP, do not use...

VM with GPU passthrough freezes when turning off monitor after proxmox 6.2 upgrade

I think you're right! I haven't tried but it's probably that same issue with the USB hub disappearing and not the GPU... I'm still on qemu 4.2 which doesn't have this problem but hopefully they'll fix it eventually

VM with GPU passthrough freezes when turning off monitor after proxmox 6.2 upgrade

Only the guest instantly freezes. The host is fine, but it takes a SIGKILL to kill the kvm process. As I said the monitor has a USB hub that I use for my mouse/keyboard and which is passed through with usb redirection. When I turn off the monitor at the power socket, the hub obviously...

VM with GPU passthrough freezes when turning off monitor after proxmox 6.2 upgrade

Hi, My setup: - upgraded from Promox 6.1 to 6.2 - Linux VM: Fedora 32 with GPU passthrough (AMD Sapphire 280x) => worked fine with Proxmox 6.1 - One monitor with integrated USB hub (keyboard + mouse) plugged into the GPU and USB devices passed through to the VM I have a very weird bug with the...

noise/crackling sound with kvm usb audio passthrough

I don't remember exactly what I did but my notes from back then only say: ALSA with pulseaudio should be configured by default and used for -soundhw=AC97 for example: edit /etc/pve/qemu-server/VMID.conf (replace VMID with VM number): args: -soundhw ac97 I think the hard bit was to run...

noise/crackling sound with kvm usb audio passthrough

Never resolved the issue. As a workaround, I use pulseaudio on the proxmox host and redirect all VMs sound to a local mixer. For windows VMs, I use the AC97 emulation (add "args: -soundhw ac97" in the VM config file) and for linux I use the hda driver. The AC97 driver is difficult to install on...

ovmf bcfg boot add does not persist

Actually the issue with Fedora 24 and KVM/EFI has nothing to do with proxmox. It's a bug in Fedora 24: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1362257

ovmf bcfg boot add does not persist

Hi, Is there an official patch now available for this issue? I have a similar problem with a Fedora 24 guest using OVMF and get a BootOrder not found error (Secure boot isn't enabled in OVMF) Thanks

noise/crackling sound with kvm usb audio passthrough

I have one of these usb audio adapters http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00IRVQ0F8/ based on a C-Media chipset (idVendor=0d8c, idProduct=0139) When I pass it to a VM (linux or windows) I get terrible audio crackling/noise issues. To make sure it wasn't a hardware problem I installed alsa on...
