i'm trying to understand your diffbackup python script. Can you provide some example how to use it? As far i understand i need to setup weekly full backup in proxmox web interface and then use cron job for your script? Or do i need to do daily full backup with proxmox and your script will eliminate the same data in backup tar files and compress it? This means that with this script i can only save the space but no the bandwidth and time?
