View Full Version : Snapshot cannot be removed after long backup job

05-09-2012, 05:06 PM
Usually, there is no problem, but when a backup job takes a long time, the snapshot gets stuck and cannot be removed. Maybe because it is full?
This of course prevents any more backups from running.

proxmox:/# lvs
File descriptor 7 left open
/dev/dm-2: read failed after 0 of 4096 at 0: Input/output error
LV VG Attr LSize Origin Snap% Move Log Copy% Convert
root pve owi-ao 442.75G
swap pve -wi-ao 7.63G
vzsnap-proxmox-0 pve Swi-Io 8.00G root 100.00
proxmox:/# lvremove -f -v /dev/pve/vzsnap-proxmox-0
File descriptor 7 left open
Using logical volume(s) on command line
/dev/dm-2: read failed after 0 of 4096 at 0: Input/output error
Can't remove open logical volume "vzsnap-proxmox-0"

Any idea how to solve this without a reboot?
