Hello,

I have always noticed that when you compress a file or making vzdump do a negative impact on overall system performance, making bottleneck between the CPU and hard drive.
This is so the server is down with 75% -90% io wait.

For some time I am using RHEL virtual machines and this problem still existed, until he had this kernel update:
http://wiki.openvz.org/Download/kernel/rhel5/028stab069.6

The problem has been solved!
when I do a vzdump CPU consumption is 25-30% io wait.

We have some information to do the same in Proxmox?

Thanks!!
