At the moment I:
- use vzdump to backup to a local disk (or SAN whatever)
- rename the files so they are unique to the VMID (i.e. remove the date-time part)
- rsync them offsite (actually I use rsync-backup)
It would be really nice if vzdump did all that for me. Ideally I could plug in different back ends so I could use scp, duplicity, rsync etc.
I know I can mount a remove directory using NFS,SSHFS etc. but I still end up copying the entire file. Some of these are many many GBs.
