Silently dropped JFS support on kernel 2.6.32-37-pve?

Upgraded the PVE from kernel version 2.6.32-34-pve to 2.6.32-37-pve, found out that there is only 1 filesystem support dropped, which is JFS.

Just want to know:
  1. Is it the decision of Proxmox?
  2. Why does Proxmox drop the JFS support?
  3. Why is it not mentioned in the changelog.Debian.gz?

Thanks in advance.

That FS does not compile with latest kernel, so I disabled it.

OK, noted.

So, will it be back to the kernel later? and what can I do if I want to get the JFS support for the latest kernel? Any suggestion?

However, why is it not mentioned in the changelog.Debian.gz came with the package? I thought such support dropped-out should have been mentioned. It did take a bit of time for me to sort out the problem.

Thanks in advance.

jfs is in our latest 3.10 kernel. so if you do not need openvz, just install 3.10 kernel.

As JFS was never a recommended or used FS on Proxmox VE, its not mentioned anywhere.

I do need openvz support, so kernel version 3.10.x is not a viable option to me.

OK, I noticed JFS support was never recommended or used on PVE, however I do think dropping a previously existed feature would be better for the users.

Also, JFS support was enabled and did be mentioned in the file "changelog.Debian.gz" before:

pve-kernel-2.6.32 (2.6.32-60) unstable; urgency=low

* enable JFS file system

Seems I missed this. But if you use OpenVZ, are you aware that only ext3/ext4 is supported for OpenVZ?

"supported" means available to use all features. I use OpenVZ on top of ZFS (not volume). So I think +- could run on JFS
