Hi to all,

This is my first experience with Proxmox, that makes me a newbie. :)

I have build a low power server with the Gigabyte GA-J1900N-D3V and a Samsung 120GB EVO ssd. The first problem that I encounter was the UEFI BIOS which did not boot from USB. After I turned on the legacy option I saw the USB drive that I had created to install Proxmox 3.1.

The installation went well and when all done I rebooted the machine. I see the GRUB loader for half a second and then the PC is rebooting again. Also I installed from CDROM but the loop will not disappear.

Does anyone have a suggestion or a tip where to look next?

EDIT: When installing 2.1 in debug mode it hangs at:

BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereferenceat (null)
IP: [ffffffffa003b7bd>] xhci_hub_control+0x37d/0xd20 [xhci_hcd]
PGD 23a633067 PUD 23a633067 PMD 0Oops: 0000 [#1]
SMPlast sysfs file: /sys/devices/pci000:00/0000:00:14.0/usb1/dev
CPU1Modules linked in: xhci_hcd(+) shpchp msdosfat

EDIT2:

I can boot Proxmox from the USB install stick with "pveboot". Does anyone know where to look next?

I can also see, in the mainbord EUFI shell, that all partitions are formatted with GPT. I think this has something to do with the issue I encounter.
Also with the new version "3.2" I experience the same behavior.

Hi Proxmox,

I face exactly the same problem on excatly the same board. Any idea?

Thankx,
d.

Today I received a new mainbord. The first one was defect.

I installed the F2 BIOS for this mainbord (Gigabyte GA-J1900N-D3V) and installed Proxmox 3.2.
And you know what...everything is working!!!

In CSM I enabled legacy boot first for all; except VGA.

Do you have some tests with this motherboard ?
How many kvm/ovz vps may handle in home lab ?
